So little time…

I miss the peaceful, dreamless sleeps of yore when I screwed the world, didn’t give a damn and was happy without having to deal with the shit that is a natural occurence when you are actually working to look like you’re happy…
University and back and dishwashing and lack of funds and an overall feeling of not quite feeling right with the world is driving me to pull my locks but I don’t feel like doing that either… Maybe that’s the issue… I don’t much FEEL…
Does that make me less of a human? And why am I even bothered if it does…

*Sigh* Me and Charlie Brown, Bloody soul mates!! which is why I say that if I see another red heart shaped balloon floating somewhere or another mushy, corny ill-written declaration of love on tv or hear another unbelievably cliched valentine’s message anywhere I am in serious danger of throwing up a couple of mugs of tea and KC Grill’s amazing tomato and basil soup..
The lunch was totally unsuccessful.. Despite the planning, the veiled lady did not show, and aalloo got held up at the other office for work so it was network and me discussing nothing in particular while deceptive got on with his work.. An hour late and although we got to the Grill finally, I was too pissed to wanna sit there too long, so making an excuse I ditched the 3 guys and arrived home to discover that my shoe buying secret was out… I actually don’t know why I lie about stuff I buy even when I know I’m gonna get caught… Oh well… C’est La Vie
Tell me though, what do protestors hope to get from European countries when they don’t respect simple civil society? How are burnt tyres, broken windows, torched cars and motorbikes, vandalism, looting and violence going to convince the world that Islam and its followers are misunderstood and the religion preaches tolerance and peace…?

Out There

Doing what? Sleeping till past 1, refusing to go to lunch with my family ‘coz of a delayed trip to the parlour which by the way has been further delayed to tomorrow morning before I have to go to university. Knew I had course outlines to prepare but conveniently postponed them too till about 7 in the evening… Result: Still slaving over them knowing I have to turn them in tomorrow to keep up my reputation at being oh so efficient.

How to Mortifiyingly Limp in the World of Blogs…!!Sort of! I have to learn how to make my blog look slightly balanced.. Really I do!
I point blank refused to do any of the assignments I have in the pipeline which basically involve slaving in front of a PC with good old fashioned hard bound books on Management and Organizational Behavior and try and come up with a convinving course outline and semester detail in time for Monday. This while knowing that I will do nothing but laze the day away tomorrow as well… Oh well.. Sue Me!

Old Friends Are Really Da BESTEST!!!

Brilliant time.. yesterday so to speak. 6:30p.m and one adad phone call from Dinky a.k.a Mads a.k.a. Madiha a.k.a school time friend now settled in Toronto, pretending she’s calling from there to find out how I am and after plenty of horseplay, voila, she landed in Isb today!!Originally at Amena’s place but then ‘coz Amena was going to Khi she landed at Jave’s house from where she was calling me. 5 minutes after hanging up, Jave calls while I’m elbow deep in dirty dishes that they were coming to pick me up and we were going out to eat!!
I beg them for 15 minutes and then they were there with Sheen and insanity prevailed. Amazing fun, sitting on the terrace of KC Grill with good food, great friends and amazing conversation covering broken marriages, ass-holity of men and their mothers, politics, crushes, jokes and general everything with lots of laughs and some serious moments too (mind you this is after not seeing even the locals for more than 4 months)… and then Gelatto for latte’s and diablos pronounced dildos by geniuses that we are, hysterical laughter, cigarettes and more serious discussion about finding the right pair of jeans…
Fun on the way back, being led around by a stupid big car and then ditching them by ducking into a street.. and lots of hugs, kisses and smiles good bye…
Thank you Allah for times such as these which give us so many memories and smiles and remind us of memories and moments past and show us what it really means to have friends…

Another Ashura without Qayamat

I refer of course to the fact that according to scriptures, Qayamat will come on Ashura, the 10th of Muharram. Rumors in NUML where my sis teaches were pretty sure about a cataclysmic earthquake shaking the foundations of Islamabad on the line sof the one on October 8th but the Almighty Allah had mercy on us.
The day much like yesterday was spent watching the same nauhas, aalims and maulanas on different channels on cable and the assorted satellite channels repeating much of the same about what happened in Karbala. I watched Allama Talib Jauhri’s majlis of Shaam-e-Gharibaan on T.V. and I have to admit that man has a most convincing way of putting his point across.
But debates about sects aside, shab-e-ashur and this day are meant to be remembered as a day of supreme sacrifice and fortitude in the face of adversary and all in all, sorrow and grief are a part of the lessons we take from it.
Papa got a deig done for Fateha as usual but this time I refused point blank to be a distribution cart for my assorted relatives and Mama, Papa listened. And we distributed it to the deserving. May the Almighty accept it and make it a cause in His mercy towards us.

Another One..

Another female I know getting divorced before the year is up on her marriage. Is this what the institute of marriage been reduced to in this day and age? Nothing is sacred! I hope the the Almighty gives her family and herself the strength to get past it and provide her with something better.
In other things, have got one book for the course and will get another on Friday which means hell of a lot of studying for moi!
Oh btw, me got tinted lenses today.. I look nice although it’s not really a prominent change ‘coz they’re blended and tinted grey! *sigh*
